Frequently Asked Questions
- Where is my data stored?
- All your health data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server or third party.
- How do I back up my data?
- Go to Settings and tap "Export Backup." You'll create a password-protected encrypted file (.vitallog) that you can save anywhere — Files, iCloud Drive, email, etc.
- How do I restore from a backup?
- Go to Settings and tap "Import Backup." Select your .vitallog file and enter the password you used when creating it. Existing data won't be duplicated.
- I forgot my backup password. Can you recover it?
- No. Backups are encrypted with AES-256 using your password. We never have access to your password or your data. Without the correct password, the file cannot be decrypted.
- What are the drug interaction warnings?
- Vitallog checks your active medications against a local database of known interactions. These are informational only — always consult your healthcare provider about drug interactions.
- How does the health summary work?
- On supported devices, Vitallog uses Apple's on-device AI to generate a summary of your health data. All processing happens on your device. On other devices, a template-based summary is generated instead.
- Can I track vitals not listed in the app?
- Yes. Go to the Vitals tab, tap the add button, and choose "Create Custom Vital" to define your own vital with custom fields, units, and ranges.
- Does Vitallog work without an internet connection?
- Yes. Vitallog works entirely offline. No internet connection is needed for any feature.
